Sergei Loznitsa

Sergei Loznitsa was born on 5.9.1964 in Baranovichi (Belarus, former USSR) and grew up in Kiev. After studying mathematics and working as an engineer, he studied at the Moscow Film Academy, from which he graduated in 1997. In his feature films and documentaries he often deals with the situation in Russia and historical topics. He has lived in Berlin with his family since 2001.
